Hatherley selected for Film Vic / SBS / Arena-media program but forced to bow out early due to recent move to Sydney.
Film Victoria has partnered with SBS and Arenamedia on a new initiative to develop and finance low budget feature films from under-represented Victorian voices.
Designed to accelerate the development of a slate of creative-led fiction features, turning early draft scripts into production ready screenplays.
The program is being delivered by internationally acclaimed UK-based story developer Angeli MacFarlane, supported by Film Victoria, Arenamedia’s Robert Connolly and Liz Kearney, and SBS Scripted Acting Commissioning Editor Donna Chang.
Sadly, with her very recent move to Sydney, Sarah has to bow out of the program after Stage 1. Despite her project – Hunted – being proposed as a 100% Victorian production with a significant regional Victorian component, she has been told she is now ineligible to progress the project through Originate.
Currently residing in Sydney to progress the NSW-centric Use Of Force, Hatherley is quickly coming to grips with ‘quirky’ eligibility rules of state based funding arrangements.
